Has a youth transitional housing program which provides housing, case management, employment assistance, alcohol and drug abuse casework and treatment services, and general like skills training. YTHP is a clean-and sober program that provides sexually diverse, homeless youth (aged 18-22) with long term housing and supportive services to aid in their transition from homelessness to permanent, independent living.

Shelter for homeless youth in San Francisco, part of San Francisco Youth Network. 70 percent lesbian & gay staff. Open 9.45 pm - 9 am. Offers shelter, meals, crisis counseling & referrals. Open to Youth ages 12-17. No referral necessary to receive services.

The Hetrick-Martin Inst. Also houses the Harvey Milk School for glbt students. Requirements: Must self identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgender. Youth are paired with their own Case Manager, who serves as the primary resource person. Case managers connect homeless youth to HMI's spectrum of quality child care services, which range from emergency housing, hot showers, nutritious meals, and clean clothing to medical care, educational programs, and vocational training.

Special outreach, case management, support groups and recreational services for GLBT youth who are homeless or runaways, victims of drug abuse or self-harm. Staff provides intensive case management for clients of Project OffStreets.
Drop-in Center: 3:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday through Tuesday. Youth may receive the basic needs of food, clothing, referral for shelter, and crisis counseling during drop-in hours six days a week. Youth need not be "Case Management" clients to receive these services, but must be homeless or living in unstable living situations (e.g., couch hopping with friends, living with an exploitive adult, exchanging sex for basic needs, etc.).

The Transgender Clinic of Tom Waddell Health Center has been in operation since November of 1993 and is committed to providing quality, integrated health care in an atmosphere of trust and respect. They are a multidisciplinary primary care clinic focusing primarily on the needs of underserved populations of inner city San Francisco. Primary care means they treat your whole body, not just your gender issues. Being multidisciplinary means they address all your concerns, not just your medical problems. They have nutritional, mental health and social services, and we work closely with community organizations. Anyone who identifies as transgender can be seen in the clinic: male-to-female, female-to-male, intersex, and those in-between. All are welcome.

TransGender Care:
The TransGenderCare Site is a database of articles and information for MTFs. It has a lot of information about surgeries, hormones, and other health concerns. It was put together by contributions by Dr. Carl Bushong and associates of the Tampa Stress Center.

A Berkeley-based LGBTQ center that provides a wide range of various peer support groups, counseling and referrals. "TransMission" is a group specifically for folks on the FTM spectrum, ages 25 and under.

A multicultural LGBTQ organization in San Francisco working to end violence against LGBTQ people. Offers emergency support, counseling, education and more.

Changeling:
A weekly discussion group for transgender, transsexual, cross dressing, gender bending, drag queen/king, multi gender or gender variant youth, and anyone else living outside of the binary gender system. Come meet others who feel the same as you, get some support from your friends and eat some snacks! A safe and respectful space for youth of all colors and genders. Open to folks 25 and under only.

TransBay:
A monthly social group for Transgender people in the San Francisco Bay Area held the second Wednesday of every month at 1234 Polk Street (between Sutter and Bush streets).

The site is part of youthresource.com. It has a lot of great coming out and life stories from trans youth. It also has a section where you can e-mail trans youth for advice or ask any questions you have.
